About Us
The EDSS is a member and volunteer operated organization committed to supporting persons and families with persons with Down syndrome, through provision of information, resources and above all connecting members with each other.
The EDSS shares space with the Community Options program on the Northgate Industries property. All general meetings are held in the meeting room.
Elections are held at the Society's Annual General meeting in May of each year. Any member is welcome to attend Executive meetings held monthly.

The Edmonton Down Syndrome Society envisions a community that values all persons with Down syndrome and supports them in achieving their full potential.
EDSS Mission
The mission of the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society is to benefit persons with Down syndrome and their families by providing information and support, facilitating services, and promoting inclusion through public awareness and advocacy, in collaboration with community partners.

EDSS Operating Principles
- Integrity and honesty in all operations of the society
- Avoid duplication of programs and services by building alliances and partnerships and through the acquisition of existing services
- Provide value to as many member families as possible
- Provide for as much balance, flexibility and choice as possible given available resources
- Ensure equitable access to programs and services, based on available resources (i.e.. financial, human, physical)
- Evaluate all programs and services based on their potential for sustain-ability, inclusion, equitable access and meeting identified gaps in programming
