Adult Outing Group

Building friendships. Growing independence. Creating community.

Adult Social Outing gives adults with Down syndrome, ages 18+, the opportunity to connect with friends, meet new people and enjoy meaningful social experiences together.

Held one Friday each month from October through August, each outing offers participants the chance to get out into the community, try new activities and spend time with other adults in a fun and welcoming environment. With support from EDSS staff, participants are encouraged to make choices, interact with others and put everyday life skills into practice in real-world settings.

From navigating community spaces and making purchases to communicating, problem-solving and simply enjoying time with friends, every outing is an opportunity to build confidence and independence.

Because community is about more than being together—it’s about belonging.
